I think the intention was that she was talking to him in Russian (since it was mentioned that she had part of a Russian Lit degree) but they didn't translate her lines for whatever reason. Yes, it translates to "firebird". Got it from a native Russian speaker who was sitting next to me while watching.
"Hang on, that looks like a USSR space suit." Scene changes. "Oh, it is."
Does anyone know what Yuri uttered at the end of the episode?
